I don't know why the little ones thirst, but I know the last shall be first.

Here is an announcement and a prayer request, and action request:

There is cholera in Bayonnais, Haiti.

This is a place that is more than near and dear to the heart of Isle of Hope United Methodist. These are our brothers and sisters.

Clean water. If there was clean water, this wouldn't be an issue.

Clean water is essential to health and life. It breaks my heart and is a tragedy that could easily be avoided. Consider the way you participate in this world. 100% of the money raised through the following website is used to build wells. I have a page, I have a campaign (well, it's closed now), but find some celebrity you love on there and support their campaign or something.

I was looking for different media/whatever for the season of Advent today and came across a video. It got me thinking, and I wanted to get it in writing form somewhere- here it is:

We're all looking for something. Feeling the need for something. Whatever it is.
Someone comes along and claims to literally be all these things-

I am the peace.

I am the truth.

I am the life.

I am the joy.

I am the love.

I am the light.

I am the way.

I am the hope.

I am exactly what you seek.

Just think about that. Would you believe them? How would you react? Stretching my mind a little right now.

-----------------------------
I wrote these things yesterday.

I do most of my work in my head. Literally, I spent all day today thinking through Advent. This mostly includes searching out and listening to as much Christmas music as humanly possible. Thank God for iTunes newest feature, PING. There is some bad/cheesy Christmas music out there. Who does it right? Chris Tomlin, of all people. I'm not the BIGGEST Tomlin fan, but last year's Glory in the Highest album was amazing. I'll be using most of the stuff again.

Another big player for me in this year's Advent scene? Someone who didn't even put out a Christmas album: Gungor. The songs "Heaven" and "Brighter Day" pile in perfectly with this season of expectation and the hope that is a second coming. HOPE.

I got a lot of work done today, and I have practically nothing to show for it (and yet so much). Only I know how difficult it is to take every idea, suggestion, concern, etc. around me, mix it with everything I think about for the service, organize it in a powerful way, then think of as many ways to present this information... and then get it down on paper... tentatively.

All the while, in the midst of the thinking, listening, and searching, I stumble across all sorts of awesome things- instructional videos, planning resources, Chris Tomlin band and HillsongU technical riders...

It's so cool.

I love my job.
