"I don't think their idea of "inflation" and mine are the same.."

... You can thank Katie for the title: looking up "chubby chaser" after watching "Big Sexy" on TLC...

It's been almost a month! Goodness gracious, how time flies! This time last year, I was posting at least once a week. The fall is coming, and I am so excited. We are in one of my favorite months of the year. The month both my mother and grandmother, AND myself were born, the month FALL starts, the month I first started talking to the most wonderful man to me!

I was running around Forsyth Park tonight and it seemed like every time I ran around a certain corner, I'd think about something I want to blog about- so here it is:

1. Worship Leaders Helping Worship Here's the deal: there are churches EVERYWHERE that desire to start contemporary worship service, but don't have the musical man power to do it. There are talented musicians and part time worship leaders everywhere. Now, for those overworked and often bi-vocational worship leaders, it's hard to help out in more than one church... especially on a regular basis. Believe me, I do it. It's draining, it's taxing, it's a lot of work and time. I feel like God has called me to that, though, and it's worth pressing on most of the time. I am working at a church 3/4s time, and now another on a contract/hourly basis. Fact is, I'm a really strong vocalist and leader. It takes time and years to develop a confidence and ability to really lead-- something not many people have taken the time to do (after all, why?). I will be leaving these churches, eventually and do NOT want to leave them hanging. I'm starting to realize how important it is to build up other strong vocalists- encourage and teach their talent (I'm also a vocal instructor). The idea, which is where the name comes in, is to help the kind of churches I work in. How does this happen? I thought it might be cool to talk to all of the talented worship leaders and musical talent in the area and form an organization called "Worship Leaders Helping Worship" (or something like that). With SO many people talented people in this community (and believe me there are... there are like 923874923 at one church I'm thinking of), what would it mean for a group of them to volunteer one Sunday a month (or once every few months, depending on how big the pool is) to play and lead at another church that is trying to start or maintain a service? I mean, just in THIS DAY alone, I talked to THREE different churches looking for a worship leader... a network of sorts connecting musicians and worship leaders to churches and churches to musicians and worship leaders.

Anyway, that is the idea in a rough and nebulous form, but I feel very strongly that this kind of network would work well in Savannah and the surrounding areas.

Thought #2 I LOVE Savannah. I am so very happy to have had the opportunity to live here and experience this town. I hate that I waited so long to experience what I have, but it is just lovely being here. Running around Forsyth, walking city market, downtown on the water, Bay Street... all in a days work :). Kayaking, beach, dinner at a nice restaurant or on the beach... history and social life (not if you want to be all in the club scene, but I think there is one of those too).

There were a few more, but I can't remember what they were. Had the song "Hold Me" by Jamie Grace stuck in my head all afternoon. Listened to Brooke Fraser all morning. Been a good day... a little overwhelming with the work... always a little overwhelming...
