Oil In The Water

God my peace is found in you

God my hope is found in you

Take these desires, find them in my heart

And drive the sword a little deeper

Bring no peace to worldly things

Let me wake from all my dreams

Send a sword through all the things

And all peace that this world brings

If my hope is found in something other than my God

No amount of strength in me

Will keep these tears from rolling down my cheeks

How I need your every breath, how I need your words

How have I depended on You, God? How have I needed you?

For some failing of my own, But God you never fail

You are the maker, creator, sustainer of my life and of this life

You carry the weight of the world on your shoulders

For though I face opposition from many sides, I know that You are with me

In God whose Word I praise

In God I will trust and not be afraid

And the tears fall

Like streams upon the pages of my life--- down my body

Tell me where was my fault?

Where did my attentions lie?

Did I forget that you gave your life?

So I stand here, receive all mercy In your presence

Your grace is all that I need

So I give up to you all the things that I hold to

All the things I’ve tried to do all by myself.

Oh Lord, hear my call

Receive my prayer

8 Record my lament;
list my tears on your scroll
[b]
are they not in your record?

9 Then my enemies will turn back
when I call for help.
By this I will know that God is for me.

10 In God, whose word I praise,
in the LORD, whose word I praise-

11 in God I trust; I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me?

12 I am under vows to you, O God;
I will present my thank offerings to you.

13 For you have delivered me [c] from death
and my feet from stumbling,
that I may walk before God
in the light of life.
[d]
