Ephesians 5:15 is what I've been studying this morning getting ready for Andy Stanley's Guardrails #1 tonight.
I turn on Joyce Meyer in the mornings now that I get her on TV, and she goes on to say this about "the war against this world" (as people call it).
"(the war)... not going to be won by sitting in a pew on Sunday morning, getting fat on the Word and doing nothing with it!"
Not getting fat on the Word today. Praying about the guardrails I need to set up or abide by today.
2. INSANITY.
My friend, DJ, brought me the Insanity workout last night. I did the fit test today like you're supposed to on the first day. I can joyfully say I am in between the "fit level" of the two helpers (?is that what you call them). I wonder if they just do that so you feel good about yourself at first.
I wasn't sure exactly how they were counting their reps, so I counted what I know to be reps and they seemed accurate.
First Measurements:
Waist: 27
Hips: 35
Thighs: 22
Here are my numbers for the first Fit Test:
Switch Kicks: 90
Squat jumping jacks: 45
Power Knees: 105 RK
Power Jumps:24
Globe Jumps: 10
Suicide Jumps/Burpees: 16
Push-Up Jacks: 19
Plank bridge oblique: 70/35 (both legs = 1 rep or the people were slow).
I am fairly strong in an ab-hold/plank bridge, so I think 70 is accurate based on how the example people had improved 3-fold in this exercise in particular.
I know I need to lose about 5-10 more lbs to be exactly where I want to be, even though I don't need to be to stay in my weight range. I just want to be fit... and take another inch off my waist and thighs! Probably need to cut out some of those cookies... Anyway, we will see how I improve! I love this kind of good-form, fast-paced, high intensity workout. No rest helps me avoid the impending laziness that is always hovering heavily above me in my workouts. It's a brain workout as well.
Mind/Matter is easier at a fast pace for me.
I might enjoy yoga as well. But it would be way more of a mental challenge...
Oh well. Good morning.
