We haven't been on many adventures since our Memorial Day weekend trip. This is a GOOD thing! Being home is a sweet place to be. Matt has had the chance to golf... a lot. And watch golf ... a lot.
The U.S. Open and the Euro have been ... occurring?this past week. So I have been fairly cooped up here in the house watching, you guessed it, soccer and golf. And DIY shows!
Matt and I decided to take the wood shop safety class here on post so we could get familiar with the tools and environment before we take on any potential DIY projects when we move. Fortunately, RIGHT before we decided this, I found a precious project on pinterest: plans to build a sofa table. And we put our heads together and found this plan from ana-white.com and decided to DO IT ourselves. SO, we went to Lowes and got some wood (first time I'd ever shopped for wood...), and Matt began work on it the next day! I'm excited!
So DIY is pretty exhausting! Sunday afternoon, after church, Matt decided to take a nap. Actually, I'm not sure that Matt chose to take a nap. He kind of just... fell asleep on the couch... in the middle of a conversation I was having with him.
Now, if you don't follow me insta.gram, I've discovered that whenever Matt naps (which is rarely) Omar isn't far away. I call the following pictures, "The Adventures of Matt & Omar":
Matt rarely takes naps, so it is a special moment for me to capture :).
Moving on-- Today, Matt participated in something they do here called the Iron Aviator. Picture a sprint triathlon with a ruck march at the beginning. He did so well, and I'm really ridiculously impressed. Ruck march, swim, bike, run. Rest. Thank goodness! That is where we are. This is where we will be... for a few more months at least.
We have such a busy traveling season up ahead of us, so I am thankful for these past few days at home!
OH! Also, I have several friends from Isle of Hope UMC who are currently in Tapacula, Mexico on a mission trip. If you would pray for them throughout this week as they serve others! They're pictures are great, and here is their blog: http://iohumcmissions.blogspot.com
