Today it is here. I woke up to a winter wonderland, and have been thinking all day: am I going to get out there and shovel it to make the job easier later? I mean, with 15 inches or more anticipated to fall from the sky, like many other things (elevation, this Floridian has nothing to compare it to... I have no idea what that is like.
If I had a winter fashion blog, I would call it "Floridian in Sheep's Clothing."
- I would like to thank Sorel footwear for keeping my feet toasty warm.
- My husband's oversized ski pants and cuddle duds for keeping me warm in the fluffy wet weather.
"I love watching the beautiful white stuff cover up all of the work I just did in clearing my steps."
"Man, I am doing AWESOME." (I like affirmation)
"I should take a break...how long have I been shoveling?"
"Looks like all this working on my fitness is coming in handy. Today was chest and back anyway."
"At least I only have to shovel my half of the driveway."
These, of course were some things I was thinking as I shoveled a few feet of snow from my driveway. Seven inches sure looks like a lot more when you're shoveling it across a driveway.
I came in for a break (which I realize now was MUCH needed-- I SEE now how people can overexert or become dehydrated), began stripping off the wet outer layer so it can dry for the next round and saw this:

This is why, even though they are lazy sons of guns, cats can be awesome in an ironic and sarcastic kind of way.
Here are some more, somewhat lackluster and underwhelming pictures that don't do my work justice :).

More to come. UNfortunately, it's snowing pretty hard again. I might want to stay inside. When it's all said and done (tomorrow), I'll post some pictures of our back porch, where you can no longer see the stairs and there are 3 ft. tall drifts forming canyons near the back of the house. It's too bad our back yard has some empty trees and giant rocks in it or else it would be an AWESOME hill to sled down.
