This week was long! But so good! All week long, Matt has been exerting himself for the German Proficiency Badge (GPB), which consists of timed running, swimming, Long jump, shot put, sprints, shooting, and a ruck march. He succeeded with flying colors and will get some new bling on his uniform for it:). I was so proud! He has also had really long days at work, but I saw his work, and it was quite remarkable. I mean, I knew my husband did well in many things and is usually at the top, but I have never been able to see it in action and let me tell you, he IS a natural achiever! I'm such a proud wife! I will probably be the most embarrassing mother, too! (Please don't be embarrassed, Matt! I can't help it!)
Matt also turned 27 on Tuesday and it was a BUSY day for me! I woke up to decorate after he left for the GPB,

And had coffee and cinnamon rolls ready when he got home. Quite nice!
I also spent the day waiting for a grill a ordered for him to come, only to call around 2pm and find out that the store had been giving me he run around for THREE weeks and they did not, in fact, have my grill! They weren't going to tell me! Anyhow, they did have a less souped up version of the grill I wanted and gave me a pretty nice discount on it for their failure in customer service. It was delivered within 30 minutes of the phone call, WHICH is how it should have been!
Anyhow, we have out beautiful grill, and I have a new grill master! It really is a good grill- I spent hours researching!

I also decided to tackle a ten layer cake for his birthday, so while I am attempting to get this grill, I am making ten layers worth of batter and frosting and WHOA! I exceeded my own expectations. It was delicious!

And it was so much fun to bake from scratch again! All in all, we had such a great day (mah, all this was accomplished on a healing sprained ankle that by the end of the day was about as swollen as it was when I first sprained it.)
The rest of the week was just as long, and just as good. The Denver Nuggets kept us up late-- winning TWO in a row against the LA Lakers! Game 7 here we come!
The Lord is good. He has been so strong for us, and we are blessed beyond what we deserve- of course. I pray for Matt every time he leaves me, and while it seems normal, I know it is The Lord who keeps him strong and brings him home.
Being in Alabama has been a great and challenging experience. I am so happy to admit how much I have been learning and growing.
