God only wise.

I had some very strange dreams last night. I don't remember them specifically, but I do remember that they were strange and slightly reminiscent of real life.

In other news, I can't get this song out of my head: Immortal Invisible

It is a modern take on an old hymn. There are a lot of these kinds of songs, but this is a song that I have a little special favor for. I love the words of the song, but in all my years of hymnody (it is a real word) I have never liked the music of this song. Chris McClarney does this version. I feel like this arrangement more accurately captures the strength of the proclamation that is "God you are immortal, you are invisible, only YOU are wise. YOU are most blessed, you are the Almighty, you are victorious, and we praise your name!" It's a chorus I could sing forever.

Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
Most blessèd, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great Name we praise.

Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
Nor wanting, nor wasting, Thou rulest in might;
Thy justice, like mountains, high soaring above
Thy clouds, which are fountains of goodness and love.

To all, life Thou givest, to both great and small;
In all life Thou livest, the true life of all;
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
And wither and perish—but naught changeth Thee.

Great Father of glory, pure Father of light,
Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight;
But of all Thy rich graces this grace, Lord, impart
Take the veil from our faces, the vile from our heart.

All laud we would render; O help us to see
’Tis only the splendor of light hideth Thee,
And so let Thy glory, Almighty, impart,
Through Christ in His story, Thy Christ to the heart.

Take a little time to worship God this morning.
