We've got what it takes to make this heart start beating again.

In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.-Psalm 16:9

I am not very disciplined at memorizing Bible verses. I have a lot of them memorized, but it's been those accumulated over about 23 years. I want to make specific efforts to memorize Bible verses. I've found that the ones that really stick are those I read and learn in specifically themed studies. For example, two of my favorites, Hebrews 4:12 and Matthew 5:6 are ones I made a specific attempt to memorize when I was doing a devotional study thing on how to truly live for Christ, and it emphasized the importance of knowing the Word (ironic?).
"The Word of the Lord is living and active, sharper than any double edge sword. It penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they will be filled."

We cannot be so filled with the things of this life and the world that we are not hungry for the Word of God and seek to live righteous lives through the grace God gives us to live.

Right now I am doing a study on the love of God. Like most people, when I am doing these things on my own, it is easier for me to concentrate on remembering such things as Bible verses when I am drenched in the topic and for a generally time so I don't get bored. I need to be more specific in my actions, though. I am being grown and taught about my own dedication to God and my love recently. I suppose I shouldn't be too proud of my own efforts here. I'm thankful for the way the Lord calls me to him and this relationship we share in. The love of God is irresistible to me. I simply cannot ignore and must partake of loving relationships :).

Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love. -Psalm 48:9
Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead. - Psalm 86:11-13

(Song in the title is "The Everglow" by Mae).
