In order to fulfill my resolution this year (see page above), I need the help of every person who visits this site: GIVE MY LOVE
The first day of the year, it is. I'm watching Home Alone, Lost in NYC, and Kevin is playing with his little recording device- answering his mother, then playing it back to her. I just realized that I got one of those for Christmas one year :).
It also seems to be the time of the year when people get engaged! I'm happy for them, truly. I mean, there's no real reason to wait, but can we be more original with the time of year one proposes? Diamonds are nice Christmas gifts, surely, but I bet she would have appreciated it several months ago, as well :).
For my own records: I have 10 couples/friends who have gotten engaged this holiday season. Really, I can name them for you if you don't believe me! That means, including those weddings starting sometime around February, I will know 14 newly married couples in the next year. It's that time of year again.
That's incredible!
As for me, this year kicked off a worship revolution. Worship is not just the songs we sing, but the life we live and the way we are the hands and feet of the Saving One and how we meet the physical needs of our people. Mom had heart surgery. I broke up with my college boyfriend after being with him for too long. As that destroyed me, through the purifying power of heartbreak, I discovered true love through the Spirit of God living in me and pouring into me all the strength I needed. I lost 25lbs. As soon as one part of my life died away, an entirely new life opened up to me; meeting friends and growing in love for my own church family. Senior and Intermediate camps (Camp Suwannee) were amazing. I sang with the worship band for the first time in 16 years of attending this camp, which is ironic since I direct worship services in real life. Joined a small group. Joined the group of people around the world who use Charity:Water to give people around the world clean water, helping to reverse the cycle of poverty, sickness, and social injustice. This year's resolution is to real a much higher goal. Saw the largest fireworks display Savannah, GA has ever seen. It was marvelous. Made some great friends and strengthened older friendships. Met a Mr. Wonderful, met him for real a few months later and haven't stopped smiling since. I inherited my sister's cat, Kiki. Painted and redecorated the house about a million times. Found my "contemporary Christian/Worship Leader" voice. Became so much closer to my family even though we are farther away. Through the joys and through the pain, this year has been the water to the roots that God planted here in Savannah, GA back in May of 2009.
That was not all inclusive, but happy new year, ya'll.
Love,
Lindsay
P.S. GIVE MY LOVE
