Life is worth the living just because He lives.

This Sunday is Easter.

I am making specific efforts to have joy over making the PowerPoint for this week because it is Easter...
The sermon title is: "Because He Lives", and of course, the song is perpetually running through my mind. I don't listen to many Gaither songs, but this one, I love.

God sent his son, they called him Jesus
He came to love, heal, and forgive
He lived and died to buy my pardon
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow
Because He lives, all fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future
Life is worth the living, just because He lives.

I love a good "hymn" story, and this one ranks up there with one of my favorites Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go. The stories are actually very similar. I encourage you to research both of them.

[ASIDE] There is a commercial for a mouthwash that eliminates morning breath. As a kid, I always wondered why people kissed in the morning :). While I have a better understanding now, I still think to myself when I see morning make-out sessions in the movies: "Doesn't their breath stink? I'd brush my teeth, floss, or SOMETHING... I'm sure that guy wouldn't care...". Anyway, I'll probably check out this mouth wash for when I'm married!

Continuing on in more spiritual matters of life (like clean breath isn't?), I read through Mark... a few times. I've gotten through the first 25 Psalms. I am re-reading Redeeming Love, and I was reconnected with Matt Wertz's song: "I Will Not Take My Love Away".

I will not take my love away
When praises cease and seasons change
while the whole world turns the other way
I will not take my love away
I will not leave you all alone
When striving leads you far from home
And there's no yield for what you've sown
I will not leave you all aone
I will give you what you need
In plenty or in poverty
Forever, always, look to me
And I will give you what you need

My heart melts and I think, pours out of my eyes when I hear this song. I'm not sure how it makes me feel, or even what I think about when I hear it, but I know I listened to it no less than 5 times last night (it's short).

Alrighty, back to work.

Hope you're having a good day.
