I was reading an article/handbook this morning while waiting for my toast to toast... It is a list of 52 "zen habits". I really enjoy these articles mostly because they remind me of the practical things I should do in life so I can focus on other things :).
I have one of my own that I thought to pass along to anyone who reads this:
When you wake up every morning, thank God for the day (cheesy, I know, but I DID eat half a box of Cheezits last night...). Don't forget that it is in fact another day, which we were not promised the night before. Remember that fact alone means that today has a purpose :). I used to practice this a lot (every day, even :)) a while back, and I think I got distracted from that kind of presence with God in my life. So, back to the basics:
Thank you, God, for another day.
I pray today that God puts a new song in your mouth and builds your faith today with the grace to live it.

I didn't have plans for today, after small groups- but I think this is what I am going to focus on :). I've never had an article single handedly describe some of my post simply pleasures :). I have already accomplished a lot of these things, but I think it's time to rearrange furniture (I know which ones of you reading this just rolled your eyes... don't judge me, just love me).
